About the game
You are John, a private in the service of the Federation who doesn’t fight to rack up kills or for honour and pride, he just fights to survive and get the whole thing over with. His ship is controlled by Ellie, an Artificial Intelligence which is programmed to help pilots stay mentally strong throughout the war and which can not kill human beings.
The Inter Galactic Corporation (also known as the Federation) which controls almost the entire galaxy is fighting the Rebels, who try to free themselves from its influence.
Federation is about to turn the tide of the war but then things start to go wrong. Mothership is destroyed and Ellie puts John into hibernation for 1000 years. Now he will have to discover what really happened and maybe, but just maybe, save the galaxy.
John doesn’t stand out physically, but he’s an intelligent man and a good pilot. Unfortunately, he’s also completely apathetic and lacking motivation. The war seems pointless to him, and he fights without any real strategy or sense of leadership. He comes alive on shore leave, and is just as happy being in suspended hibernation on long-haul flights. Combat requires a certain level of enthusiasm which John just can’t muster. He’s a great pilot, but he doesn’t fight to rack up kills or for honour and pride, he just fights to survive and get the whole thing over with.
Ellie is a master control programme, a copy of which is present in every Federation ship. She is a personality-based A.I. and is essentially a stripped-down version of the master Mothership A.I. of the Federation fleet. However, as the game progresses she undergoes her own changes, eventually becoming more human (the ‘Pinocchio’ effect). Programmed with psychological subroutines to help pilots stay mentally strong throughout the war, she tries to communicate with John in a more human way, but completely fails at it. Despite being a sophisticated piece of programming, she lacks real empathy and seems cold. Even so, she sometimes uses words and phrases that her A.I. counterparts in the other ships don’t use. This gets her into trouble, as with her inadvertent sarcasm in her praise for some of John’s less well-planned decisions.
When you have enough passion beautiful things can happen. This is how Tabasco Interactive was created. Our love for games helped us emerge out of BlueSoft, a Polish-based IT company that supports us on this journey.
It all began in 2012. We were misfits (inside the company) and rebels (from the outside). The Universe arranged it somehow that we would meet each other, so we decided to accept the challenge, and formed a game development studio. Currently we have six people on board (core team), but we have already worked with over 20 specialists. We are experienced not only in storytelling, programming, and creating beautiful visuals and sounds, but we also know the business inside and out, and we have experience in managing projects.
Mission and values
The mission of Tabasco Interactive is to deliver a magical experience, with beautiful and well-crafted games. We see the playing of games as an amazing experience that should be easily accessible to everyone. Thus, we care about simple yet deep design. Our goal is to create user-friendly products, with likeable characters, and memorable worlds.
